Shoukry: Egypt will exert its efforts to stop violence in Gaza

Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry said that Egypt will exert its efforts to stop the violence in Gaza, and will work on all fronts to find a solution to the current crisis in the region.

In a joint press conference with his US counterpart Blinken, Shoukry  stressed that the American aid program is beneficial to relations between Egypt and the US, calling for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza on a diplomatic and moral basis.

Shoukry pointed out to an agreement with the US side on a ceasefire and truce and concluding a prisoner exchange deal, explaining that there is agreement regarding the necessity of not carrying out a military operation in Rafah and rejecting the displacement of Palestinians from their lands, stressing the necessity of a two-state solution and addressing the Palestinian-Israeli conflict peacefully.

The Foreign Minister stressed the importance of working to resolve the Palestinian and Israeli conflict peacefully.
