Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry had a call late Friday with his Tunisian counterpart Othman Jerandi, as they discussed efforts to end Israeli violence in the Palestinian territories.

Shoukry appreciated Jerandi's great efforts within the framework of the Security Council, in addition to his vital role in expressing the Arab stance within the position adopted by Arab League last Tuesday.

The two ministers have coordinated preparation for the Security Council meeting, which will be held next Sunday, to discuss a ceasefire to save lives of civilians amid escalation of violence in Gaza Stripe.

Shoukry had a call Thursday with his Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov, as they stressed the importance of ending the Israeli attack on the Gaza strip.

In their phone conversation, they affirmed that political action is “essential”, urging the international community to make a serious move quickly and propose a real, fair and satisfactory solution in the Palestinian cause.

Moreover, they agreed to intensify communication with each other as well as the other parties concerned to end this growing conflict.
