Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Earns Humanitarian Award from Vatican Foundation

Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed, the Crown Prince of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, has been given the 2021 Vatican’s Humanitarian Award.

Bin Zayed has worked tirelessly over a lifetime to promote human rights, justice, and peace, with a particular drive towards ending poverty, supporting global education and learning projects, and empowering at-risk youth.

In 2007, the Emirati Crown prince set up the Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation to help victims of disasters and afflicted countries.

Determined to help people struggling with the Coronavirus and its aftereffects, in 2020 and 2021, he launched many programs, dedicated to helping coronavirus patients and others.

The award has been given by Vatican’s Pontifical Foundation Gravissimum Educationis, which supports global education and learning projects.

The foundation has inked a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the UAE Ministry of Education, according to Cardinal Giuseppe Versaldi, the president of Foundation Gravissimum Educationis.

"The MoU is the first official step of the journey we are taking together. It is not an agreement, it is a statement of common understanding," Versaldi said.

It’s worth mentioning that Bin Zayed is known for his charitable works and virtuous deeds, He spent many years caring for youth in UAE.
