Under the patronage of Sheikha Jawaher bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, the eighth Arab Women’s Club Games will be held in Sharjah from Feb. 2 to 10, organizers said.
The event will feature the addition of taekwondo with an international G1 ranking and beach rowing for the first time, alongside sports such as volleyball, athletics, fencing and basketball. The games are organized by the Sharjah Women’s Sports Foundation and supervised by the Union of Arab National Olympic Committees.
Inspection teams from the Arab Olympic body toured competition and training venues across Sharjah to assess readiness. Sheikh Khalid bin Ahmed Al Qasimi said the tournament has set a leading model for empowering Arab women in sports. Officials described the games as a regional platform combining athletic excellence with cultural and social development.
The event is expected to draw clubs and athletes from across the Arab world.
