The National Arab Music Ensemble celebrated the timeless works of the late legendary composer Ammar El Shari’i during a "Shari’i Night" organized by the Cairo Opera House, under the chairmanship of Dr. Ala’a Abdel Salam. The evening was conducted by Maestro Dr. Mostafa Helmy.
The Grand Theatre was packed with enthusiasts of "serious art," all gathered to dive into the sea of melodies crafted by a composer whose iconic tunes are known for touching the soul and elegantly expressing human emotions. Amidst a wave of nostalgia, the audience’s imagination soared as a world of beauty unfolded through a diverse blend of vocal and dramatic compositions.
The program was masterfully performed by the Cairo Opera’s Arab music stars, including:
* Ahmed Essam, Manar Samir, and Mohamed Tarek.
* Ayat Farouk, Enas Ezz El-Din, and Mai Hassan.
* Ahmed Effat and the talented young Jana Effat.
The repertoire featured a rich selection of Shari’i’s masterpieces, such as:
* TV Classics: Arabesque, El Shahd wel Demou’ (Honey and Tears), Abu El Ela El Bishry, Hadith El Sabah wal Masa’ (Morning and Evening Talk), Zizinya, and Al-Ayyam.
* Vocal Favorites: Betesa’al Ya Habibi, Tab’an Ahbab, Habibti Min Dafayerha, and Arabia Ya Ard Filastin.
* Instrumental Highlights: The evocative music from Imra’a Min Zaman El Hob (A Woman from the Time of Love).
This concert is part of the Ministry of Culture and the Cairo Opera House’s strategic initiative to rediscover and promote melodies bearing the authentic Egyptian character. It also serves as a tribute to the creative icons who have left an eternal mark on the world of music and arts.
