Lebanese-Colombian superstar Shakira — who embarked on her “Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran” world tour last week — was forced to postpone her show in Peru on Sunday due to a recent hospitalization with an “abdominal issue”.

The pop star, 48, took to Instagram to share with fans that her Sunday concert in Lima was postponed after she was admitted to the hospital with an unspecified abdominal issue.

“I am sorry to inform you all that last night I had to go to the ER for an abdominal issue and am currently hospitalized,” she wrote in a statement shared to X. “The doctors whose care I am currently under have communicated that I am not in good enough condition to perform this evening.”

Shakira added that she was “very sad” about the postponement as she had been “looking forward to reuniting” with her “incredible fans” in Peru.

The Grammy winner shared that she’s hopeful she’ll be feeling better by Monday to be released and return to the stage.

“My team and the promoters are already working on a new date to communicate to you. Thank you all for your understanding, I love you all. Shak,” she concluded.

The singer also shared the same statement in Spanish on the platform.

Shakira made a quick recovery, taking to social media the following day to share with fans that her Monday concert at Estadio Nacional in Cercado de Lima, Peru, would continue as planned.

"Thank you for all your loving messages. You give me so much strength!!" Shakira wrote on her Instagram Story late Sunday. "I love you with all my heart."

The "Puntería" singer kicked off her tour at Estádio Olímpico Nilton Santos in Rio de Janeiro last Tuesday in support of her 12th album of the same name. She then took the stage in São Paulo on Thursday.

Following her Rio concert, Shakira took to Instagram to express her gratitude for her fans and their response to her tour.

“Rio! I couldn’t have asked for a better crowd to kick off the tour! Thank you for all your love, warmth, and energy on an unforgettable night! São Paulo, are you ready?” she captioned a slew of photos on Instagram.

The musician is scheduled to perform five shows in Colombia — three in her hometown of Barranquilla — from February 20 through February 27. She is set to close out the South American leg of the tour on March 8 before she kicks off her Mexico dates on March 12.

The album "Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran," is Shakira's first release since her high-profile breakup with longtime partner Gerard Piqués. The confessional LP also earned her a Grammy Award for Best Latin Pop Album earlier this month at the 67th annual Grammy Awards.
