Shaban, Saad to Begin Filming "The Hornet’s Nest" in November

Mostafa Shaban and Amr Saad will star together for the first time in a TV series operating under the working title of “Esh El Dababer” (The Hornet’s Nest), which they plan to participate in Ramadan 2021 drama marathon with.

The series is written by Mohamed Sayed Bashir, directed by Ahmed Khaled Moussa, and produced by Sadiq Al-Sabah.

The production will be filmed in several countries and set to be screened on MBC Misr.

It marks Bashir’s third cooperation with Shaban, the second with Khaled Moussa, and his first with Saad.

Shaban and Saad are set to begin filming the series in November. They are currently holding work sessions with the series writer and director, to hash out all the details.

The plot revolves are two people who are faced with many troubles. They join hands to get out of it, amidst getting in conflict an enemy plans to their doom.

On the other hand, Shaban postponed his TV series “Hata La Yatir Al Dokhan”, which is based on a novel of the same name by the great novelist Ihsan Abdel Quddous”, which he was scheduled to participate this Ramadan with.

The series is written by Medhat El-Adl and directed by Mando El-Adl.

El Adl Group, the series production company, announced Shaban’s signing at a late date — compared to the rest of the series that was set to be presented in Ramadan.

The group, however, carried on despite the limited time and difficulty of hashing out the details, contracting the rest of the cast, and preparing the decorations among other things, but there was strong progress forward in the work.

Unfortunately, the preparations for the series had stopped, which led to the series being officially postponed, and Shaban not participating in the drama marathon for the first time in eight years.

The actor is considered one of the most prominent stars who have been annually present in Ramadan.

He participated in the past years’ with TV series “Abu Gabal” in 2019, “Ayoub” in 2018, “Allahom Any Sayem” in 2017, “Abu Al-Banat” in 2016, “Mawlana El-aasheq” in 2015, “Doctor Amrad Nesa” in 2014, “Mazag El Kheir” in 2013, and “Al Zoga Al Raba’a” in 2012.

It is worth mentioning that Shaban, born on May 19, 1970, received his bachelor’s degree from the Media Faculty at Cairo University in 1975.

Shaban had directed some productions during his study at the university. In his stage acting debut, he appeared alongside Mohamed Sobhy in the production “Bil’arabi al-Faseeh” (“In Standard Arabic”).

Shaban received the award for the best actor from the Film Association for his role in “Fatta men Israel” (“A Girl from Israel”).

He also received an award for “al-Sharq” (“The Orient”) from the Alexandria Film Festival.

The actor has taken part in the television productions “Ahlam Moajjala” (“Deferred Ambitions”) and “’Aailat al-Hajj Metwally” (“The Household of al-Hajj Metwally”) and in the play “Tihib Tishoof Massa”.
