Napoli’s inconsistent run in Serie A continued after they were held to a draw by Parma on Wednesday evening at the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium, in a rescheduled fixture from Matchday 16 of the Italian league.
With this result, Napoli raised their points tally to 40, sitting in third place, three points behind league leaders Inter Milan.
Parma, meanwhile, occupy 14th place with 22 points.
The draw marked Napoli’s third consecutive stalemate, following back-to-back 2–2 draws against Inter Milan and Hellas Verona.
Napoli were without head coach Antonio Conte on the touchline due to suspension, while David Neres missed out through injury.
Despite these absences, Napoli relied on their strong home record, having gone 19 consecutive Serie A home matches without defeat.
Parma, on the other hand, came into the match full of confidence after a 2–1 win over Lecce, which marked their fifth victory of the season.
The visitors have impressed away from home, collecting 57% of their total points on the road and remaining unbeaten in their last four away matches.
