Spanish radio reports revealed a dramatic and unexpected development in the potential sale of Sevilla FC, with former Spain captain Sergio Ramos emerging as a serious contender to acquire the Andalusian club.

According to Spain’s COPE radio network, Ramos has submitted an official bid to purchase Sevilla, backed by a group of investors.

The offer is already known to the club’s major shareholders and is reportedly the highest on the table so far.

The reports indicate that Ramos is spearheading a committed investment consortium and has personally informed key shareholders of his intentions.

The move reflects a strong desire to reshape the sale process, particularly amid stalled and complicated negotiations with an American investment fund.

Cadena SER, citing Spanish journalist Manolo Aguilar, confirmed that the proposal led by Ramos has been formally presented to Sevilla’s principal shareholders, with the aim of acquiring full ownership of the company that controls the club.

These developments occurred as the interest from the American investment fund cooled.

In the same context, Ramos’ bid has gained significant momentum and is now considered a leading option.

His historical ties to Sevilla, where he began his professional career, along with his growing experience in sports investment, have strengthened the appeal of his proposal.

Ramos is currently a shareholder in San Fernando CD, a club chaired by Ramón Rodríguez “Monchi,” one of the most influential figures in Sevilla’s modern history.
