Senegal are the first side to reach the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations semi-finals after beating Benin on Wednesday (1-0). They will face either Tunisia or Madagascar in Cairo on Sunday, July 14.

Lions of Teranga's midfielder Idrissa Gueye booked his side spot in the last 4 after he managed to score the only goal of the game through a right-foot shot from Benin's penalty area in the 69th minute.

Three minutes later, Mane came close to doubling the scoring through a shot from Squirrels' penalty area kept away by Saturnin Allagbe who made a brilliant save.

Referee Mustafa Gharbal ruled out two goals for Liverpool star Mane in the 54th minute and in the 74th minute due to offsides after he checked with VAR lads that appeared in the tournament for the first time.

Benin came close to open the scoring in the 26th minute of the game through Mickael Pote's backheel. Squirrels' Olivier Verdon was sent off near the end for a foul on Gueye.
