The Liverpool forward had a first-half penalty saved by Kenya keeper Patrick Matasi. Ismailia Sarr scored the opening goal of the match in the 63rd minute through a beautiful volley shot.

Sadio Mane later scored the second goal of the match, compensating his previous missed penalty after beating the keeper one on one in the 71st minute.

Mane closed the scoring in the 78th minute through a penalty spot kick.

Senegal face Uganda in the last 16 on 5 July. Kenya could still qualify as one of the best four third-placed teams, depending on the results in the final games in Group E and F.

However, Monday's result means DR Congo definitely qualify from Group A with a superior goal difference.
