Senegal defeated Tunisia 1-0 in a hard fought match that saw it's way into extra time, with neither side able to score in the normal time periods. Both teams wasted a penalty and Tunisia was denied one late into the second half of extra time. The Lions will now head on to the African Cup of Nations final to meet the winner between Algeria and Nigeria.

Tunisia were successful in holding off raging Lions Senegal in the first half of the semi-final of this year’s African Cup of Nations. The Eagles will need to find their form quickly if they wish to survive this match as Senegal is controlling the match substantially.
The Eagles played a counter attacking game throughout the half, trying to make use of any Senegal mistake.

Tunisia completely changed their playing strategy in the second half, wasting a vital chance early on when Ferjanni Sassi placed the ball into the goal in the 49th minute but was saved by the keeper.
Tunisia wasted another vital chance in the 65th minute when Khenesy failed to place a one on one with the goalkeeper into the net.

Sassi won a penalty for his side in the 75th minute after shooting the ball into the hands of the Senegalese defender. Ironically Sassi wasted the chance after placing the ball into the hands of the keeper. Five minutes later, Senegal won a penalty, which was wasted by Henry Savit after a beautiful save from Moez Hassan. Full time ended with both teams still unable to score.
An own goal in extra time handed Senegal the 1-0 victory after a horrific mistake by goalkeeper Hassen in the 100th minute saw the ball bounce off the head of defender Dylan Bronn and into the net for the only goal of a game.
