Renowned Egyptian actor Ahmed El-Tohamy mentioned in an interview with “Sada El-Balad English” that acclaimed actor Adel Imam is his mentor in the world of art.
El-Tohamy, an Egyptian actor, is known for his robust physique and has gained recognition for his roles in various films and series such as "Al-Nazer," "Amir Zalam" and Omar w Salma Part " He also starred in works like "Ela-Tgrouba El Denmarkia" and "Naji Atallah Squad" alongside Adel Imam, solidifying his artistic career.
Reflecting on his entry into the world of acting, El-Tohamy shared that his passion for the arts emerged over 25 years ago as he watched compelling dramas and series.
He revealed his father, an officer in the armed forces and a war hero, further fueled his desire to know more about the heroic characters. "Despite initially intending to join the Military College, a shift occurred when he ventured into the field of advertising at a young age. This eventually led him to pursue acting, collaborating with esteemed directors like Sherif Arafa, Amr Arafa, and Hadi El-Bagouri."
In the same context, El-Tohamy expressed deep appreciation for Adel Imam's guidance and support throughout his career, emphasizing Imam's pivotal role in shaping his artistic journey.
He highlighted his experience working with Imam in plays and series, referring to Imam as his teacher, mentor, and brother. El-Tohamy also recounted the demanding filming process for "Naji Atallah Band," where he played a physically demanding role and trained extensively outside of filming.
Regarding his collaboration with artist Karim Abdel Aziz, El-Tohamy praised Aziz as a valuable contributor to Egyptian art, reflecting on their time filming the series "Wash Thani" with Hussein Fahmy.
El-Tohamy also opened up about his work in films with Tamer Hosni and Mohamed Saad, expressing satisfaction with his collaboration with Hosni in "Omar and Salma 3" and regret over his role in the film "Puskas" alongside Mohamed Saad.
He expressed his hope that the audience will enjoy the comedy series "The Big Night," in which he recently finished filming.
Asking what character he would like to embody, he replied: "I dream of embodying the heroic roles played by heroes of the armed forces"
He also emphasized the importance of participating in projects that honor the stories of army heroes, citing his involvement in the series "Battalion 101."
When asked about his participation in Saudi Arabia showbiz, he answered: "I featured in a play named "Casanova" for the first time in Riyadh. It was my first visit to Riyadh, and I was struck by the significant improvements in the city, the Bolivar, and the overall system. The reception for both the artists and the guests was very impressive, and I noticed that the Saudi people have a great appreciation for Egyptian artists."
