Secretary-General of Muslim World League Visits India

In an historic event, H.E. Sheikh Dr. Muhammad bin Abdulkarim Al-Issa, the Secretary-General of the Muslim World League and Chairman of the Organisation of Muslim Scholars, made his inaugural official visit to India on July 10. High-ranking Indian officials, including the President and Prime Minister, welcomed him as he embarked on this crucial mission.

In a valuable dialogue with the President of India, the key objectives and important work of the Muslim World League were highlighted and praised. The President lauded the league's contributions in endorsing peaceful values and fostering religious dialogues. She underlined the multicultural identity of India, noting that it is home to the world's second-largest Muslim population.

Dr. Al-Issa also had a significant discussion with India's Prime Minister, focusing on enhancing harmony across different faiths, nurturing peace, and promoting human advancement. The discussion was thoughtful and forward-looking, underlining the shared commitment to fostering peaceful co-existence.

Dr. Al-Issa's visit extended to a meeting with the External Affairs Minister, Dr. S. Jaishankar, and National Security Advisor, Ajit Doval. In this interaction, the dialogue centered around the cruciality of international diversity, interfaith dialogues, and the importance of supporting initiatives that foster these values.

In addition, Dr. Al-Issa was the distinguished guest at the India Islamic Cultural Center. During this visit, he gave an illuminating lecture that emphasized the profound values of Islam, including its core principles aimed at creating bridges of understanding and peace between various civilizations.
