Police in Seattle reported on Friday that a group of thieves stole an estimated $2 million’s worth of diamonds, luxury watches, gold, and other valuables in a daring midday robbery that lasted less than 90 seconds.
CCTV footage from the shop in West Seattle showed four masked suspects smashing the locked glass front door with hammers before looting six display cases on Thursday. One of the showcases contained Rolex watches valued at 750,000 dollars, according to police.
During the raid, one suspect threatened staff with bear spray and a stun gun, though no injuries were reported.
Josh Minash, vice president of the family-owned store, said staff were left shocked by the robbery and confirmed the business would remain closed temporarily. Employees have since cleaned up the shattered glass and are assessing the full extent of the losses.
Police said they responded quickly to reports of the theft, but the suspects had already fled the scene in a getaway vehicle. A search of the surrounding area failed to locate them, and the investigation remains ongoing.
