SCZone Signs $130M Investment Deal with Chinese "Everfar" to Establish Textile Hub

Walid Gamal El-Din, Chairman of the General Authority for the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZONE) signed a contract today with Everfar Textile Egypt LLC, a subsidiary of a leading Chinese industrial group specializing in textiles and garments.

The new project will be established in the West Qantara Industrial Zone, spanning 145,000 square meters, with a total investment of $130 million (approximately EGP 6.3 billion). The facility is expected to create over 3,200 direct job opportunities and will dedicate 100% of its production for export.

The Everfar project is set to become one of the largest textile and garment ventures within SCZONE. It will adopt a fully integrated production model encompassing yarn spinning, fabric weaving, dyeing and finishing, garment manufacturing, in addition to accessories production.

Production targets include over 7.5 million tons of processed fabrics annually, 20 million meters of garment fabrics, 3.6 million finished garments, as well as significant volumes of fashion accessories

The project will utilize state-of-the-art production lines and advanced textile technology, aligning with international sustainability and quality standards.

The contract was signed by Mr. Lu Jiaoxing, the company’s legal representative, in the presence of senior SCZONE officials.

Strategic Location and Export Focus

Commenting on the project, Chairman Walid Gamal El-Din said: “Everfar’s investment marks a major milestone for the West Qantara Industrial Zone. Its integrated model embodies the very definition of industrial synergy, from raw material to finished product, fully aligned with SCZONE’s strategy for vertical integration and value chain enhancement.”

He added that the exclusive export orientation of the project reflects the high level of international investor confidence in the Suez Canal Economic Zone, while also contributing to Egypt’s export growth and local value-added initiatives.

Everfar’s presence is expected to bolster global supply chains and serve major international fashion brands.
