The official spokesperson of Saudi Professional League side Al Taawoun, Soliman Al-Fahid, confirmed that the club are in negotiations to sign Mostafa Fathi from Zamalek.
Fathi was part of the Zamalek squad that won the 2014-2015 Egyptian Premier League and was a vital player for the team during that period.
However, a series of injuries later, coinciding with several managerial changes and the arrival of new players, saw him drop down the pecking order.
He was, therefore, sent on a six-month loan to league rivals Smouha at the start of last season in order to get more playing time.
The 27-year-old took full advantage of this opportunity and regained his spark with the Alexandria-based side, scoring 17 goals and providing six assists in 27 games.
