On Thursday, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and his Crown Prince and Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense Mohammed bin Salman congratulated President Abdel Fattah El Sisi on the anniversary of Egyptian National Day.

In cables, both Saudi leaders wished President Sisi constant good health and happiness and the Government and people of the Republic of Egypt steady progress and prosperity.

King Salman praised the distinguished relations between the two countries.

The Egyptian July 23 Revolution took place on July 23, 1952, by the Free Officers Movement, a group of army officers led by Mohammed Naguib and Gamal Abdel Nasser. The revolution was aimed at overthrowing King Farouk’s regime.

The movement had more political ambitions and quickly moved to abolish the constitutional monarchy and aristocracy of Egypt and Sudan, aiming to establish a republic, end the British occupation of the country, and securing the independence of Sudan.
