The AFC General Assembly met today in Manama, the capital of Bahrain, before officially announcing that Saudi Arabia had won the organization.
The Saudi file was the only one after the withdrawal of the Indian file from the race to host the 2027 Asian Nations Cup.
Thus, the Gulf countries will take turns hosting 3 consecutive editions of the Asian Cup, as the 2019 edition was held in the UAE, and the 2023 edition is hosted in Qatar, and Saudi Arabia comes with a first organization that will be historic.
Saudi Arabia has 3 Asian titles in 1984, 1988 and 1996.
Qatar holds the Asian Cup title by crowning it in the 2019 edition, and will return to hosting the 2023 edition after the apology of China, as it was affected by the Corona epidemic.
