Saudi Arabia Partially Lifts Curfew During Ramadan, Except for Makkah

The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud has ordered on Sunday the partial lifting of the curfew across Saudi Arabia, with the exception of the holy city of Makkah and other places previously isolated after Coronavirus outbreak.

According to the royal decree, the public movement will be allowed from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. each day until May 13; some economic and commercial activities will restart from April 29 until May 13.

Moreover, the wholesale and retail trade stores, as well as commercial centers and malls will be allowed to resume their activities during the two-week period from April 29 until May 13.

Contracting companies and factories are also allowed to resume their activities without restrictions on time, according to the nature of their business.

Meanwhile, beauty clinics, barber salons, sports and health clubs, recreational centers, cinemas, beauty salons, restaurants, cafes will continue to be restricted.

It is worth mentioning that, Saudi Arabia has so far reported 16,299 COVID-19 cases, including 136 deaths.

Worldwide, the number of cases neared 2.8 millions cases and the number of deaths passed the 200,000, with the US accounting for over 53,000, or more than 25 percent of the total.

On March 11, the World Health Organization (WHO) declared coronavirus a global pandemic on March 11 as the new virus has rapidly spread to more than 500,000 people from Asia to the Middle East, Europe, and the United States.

The virus caused complete paralysis in all sports activities worldwide, as many countries around the world suspended all the sporting activities due to concerns over the spread of the virus.
