KSA will take on Puerto Rico at 2:00 a.m. on Saturday as part of their final preparations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, which kicks off on June 11 in the United States, Canada, and Mexico.

The Green Falcons began their pre-tournament schedule with a 2-1 defeat to Ecuador but showed promising signs under new head coach Georgios Donis, who is working to finalize his preferred lineup and tactical approach ahead of the global tournament.

KSA have been drawn into Group H alongside Spain, Uruguay, and Cape Verde. The team will open its World Cup campaign against Uruguay before facing Spain and concluding the group stage against Cape Verde on June 27.

The 2026 edition marks Saudi Arabia’s seventh appearance at the FIFA World Cup. The Green Falcons will once again face African opposition at the tournament, continuing a trend that has featured in nearly every World Cup campaign except Qatar 2022.

Historically, KSA have enjoyed solid results against African teams on football’s biggest stage. In five previous World Cup meetings with African nations, they have recorded two victories, two draws, and only one defeat.

Their first encounter came against Morocco at the 1994 World Cup, where Saudi Arabia secured a memorable 2-1 victory that helped them advance to the Round of 16.

They later drew 2-2 with South Africa in 1998, lost 1-0 to Cameroon in 2002, drew 2-2 with Tunisia in 2006, and defeated Egypt 2-1 at the 2018 World Cup in Russia.

As they prepare to face Cape Verde in the group stage of the 2026 tournament, KSA will be looking to build on their strong record against African opponents and make a positive impact in their seventh World Cup appearance.
