Chile winger Alexis Sanchez is on the verge of joining Italian giants Inter Milan from Manchester United as he is currently in Italy to undergo the required procedures.
Sanchez, who failed to find his rhythm with the Red Devils last season, requested the number 7 Jersey after he potentially signs for Inter. The forward wore the same number at United and Arsenal and wants to continue in the same fashion.
According to the Mirror English newspaper, Sanchez is set to join Inter Milan for a season-long loan. Skysports also revealed that Sanchez will earn a salary similar to the one he received at United.
Solskjaer had revealed that he planned to use the forward if he remained at the club. He said: "Alexis is such a pro and he comes in working every single day really hard and wants to be a part of this. “It's these stories that he's been put in the reserves - of course, he hasn't, he's had three weeks now, he's a few weeks behind the rest but close to being ready.
“We don't have the biggest forward line in numbers, so Alexis might end up playing a lot more games than you expect, we expect him to come good at this club, he's quality.”
Alexis Alejandro Sánchez Sánchez, also known simply as Alexis, is a Chilean professional footballer who plays as a forward for English Premier League club Manchester United and the Chile national team.
Sánchez began his career as a youth player for Cobreloa at age 17, completing a season at the club before relocating to Italy to play for Udinese in 2006. He won his first trophies in the following seasons, winning consecutive league titles in loans spells to Colo-Colo and River Plate. In 2008, he returned to Udinese, becoming an integral member of the team in his first full season at the club. After three seasons in Italy, Sánchez moved to Barcelona in a transfer worth €30 million (£25 million), becoming the most expensive Chilean player of all time.
