The Egyptian Culture Minister Dr. Ines Abdel-Dayem opened the 13th run of the International “Samae” Festival for spiritual music in the “Beaar Youssef” theatre in “ElKalaa”.
After the national anthem, Dr. Entessar Abd ElFatah the founder and president of the festival said that “The festival’s goal is to relive the listening art in all its different forms whether Islamic or Coptic, spread the dialogue culture between different people and to confirm the religions’ cores, love, forgiveness and peace.
The minister congratulated both Yehia El-Fakharany and Samira Abdel Aziz who hosted the festival as usual for their recent senate memberships.
She also added that the spiritual music sails with the heart in the non-materialistic seas which is why we care about the International “Samae” Festival with its musicians who come from all over the world to meet under Cairo’s sun with its mosques and churches that represent the epitome of forgiveness.
While the festival started with an Islamic poem in the voice of the late actor Mahmoud Yassin, Dr. Abd ElFatah worked on merging the Islamic singing with the church hymns and Coptic singing.
The festival also included a number of Arabic and foreign performances from Syria, Sudan, Greece, Congo and Indonesia. Not to mention the Arabic singing competitions between the Egyptian and Syrian bands.
It is noteworthy that Lebanon is this year’s honor guest.
The festival will last till October 29th; it includes more than 20 bands from different nationalities and it also includes 12 celebrations besides the opening and closing celebrations.
The closing celebrations will be especially for the prophet’s Mouhamed birthday.
The festival’s celebrations were divided on the “ElKalaa”, “Koba ElGhory” and the old religion complex theaters.
The 6th run of the religions forum events “Let’s Pray Together” are set to be held in the old religion complex theater on October 25th and most of the cosmic mass bands will take part in it.
