Liverpool star Mohamed Salah has affirmed that the Manchester United match will be a "special" one, given that the two teams will meet in the upcoming confrontation; both are ranked second and first in the Premier League table.

Liverpool, second in the Premier League, will host the leaders Manchester United at Anfield at 18:30 CLT, Sunday, in the 19th week of the competition.

“The game is really big at the moment, especially because now they are first and we are second,” the Egyptian Pharaoh told TV2.

“They are playing well this season as well. It’s a good game but at the end of the day we need to win that game, I think that’s the most important thing,"

“I always say it’s just one game, it’s only one game. But because this one, if they win they are going to be six points [ahead of Liverpool ] and if you win you’re going to be the same, it’s a little bit special this game," he added.

“It’s always different. The last two years I’ve always said it’s one game and that’s it, it’s three points,"

"But this game now, because they are first and you have to be close to them and beat them to be first as well, it’s a little bit special,” the Egyptian star went on.

Salah insisted Liverpool are in a strong frame of mind, despite the amount of pressure on ahead of the biggest game of the season so far, according to The Mirror.

“Around the training ground you feel how the players are focused on the game, how the players are pushing each other to win games,” he said.

“We also lost a couple of points in the last couple of games, so we need to come back to our way and we need to stay on track to win games so we can keep fighting for the Premier League,”

Salah also affirmed that the Reds results are his priority despite his chase for a third Premier League Golden Boot.

“I’m happy when the team wins, that’s the most important thing,” he said.

“When I’m scoring goals and can help the team, that makes me more happy. When I don’t score and the team doesn’t win, that’s a nightmare!"

“But I’m happy when we are first, I’m happy when I score goals to help the team because the team comes first before anything and before anyone.” he concluded.

Liverpool trail their old rivals the Red Devils by three points after a series of three games for the Reds without a win in Premier League.

It is reported that Salah is currently the top scorer in the English Premier League with 13 goals, and he won the Golden Boot in his first two seasons with Liverpool.
