The South Sudanese Minister of Foreign Affairs, Nhial Deng Nhial received this morning a message of greetings and congratulations from his Egyptian counterpart, Sameh Shoukry.
The message was delivered by the Egyptian Ambassador to South Sudan, Mohamed Mansur Kadah, as well as an invitation for the S. Sudanese Minister to visit Cairo on a date to be agreed upon.
During their meeting, the Egyptian Ambassador affirmed Egypt’s firm support to the efforts underway to consolidate peace and stability in South Sudan.
The meeting touched as well on bilateral relations, including the exchange of high-level visits and projects underway in the areas of health, transport, and energy, as well as projects in the pipeline in the areas of agriculture, petroleum, tourism, and water resources.
Lastly, the two sides discussed regional developments, where the ambassador briefed the South Sudanese Minister of the GERD dam crisis and the two sides expressed hope to reach a win-win solution under the auspices of the African Union (AU), in accordance with the principle of amicable international relations and the established rules of international law.
