The Ministry of Science, Information and Communications Technology, and Future Planning in South Korea announced yesterday its plans to launch a comprehensive space agency in May.

South Korea is aspiring to join the ranks of advanced nations in the field of space exploration.

According to the South Korean news agency "Yonhap," the ministry stated that it has set an ambitious goal of acquiring 10% of the global space travel market by 2045.

The Korean Aerospace Research Institute (KARI) will be responsible for leading space programs, conducting aerospace and satellite research, and spearheading missions for lunar and Martian exploration.

In 2022, South Korea unveiled its space exploration plans, including a project to land a spacecraft on the moon by 2032 and on Mars by 2045.

Additionally, South Korea intends to establish over 2,000 space-related companies and generate approximately 500,000 new job opportunities in the field.
