On Tuesday, South Korea reported 3 new cases of COVID-19 Omicron variant, taking the total number of confirmed omicron variant cases in the country to 12 so far, according to the Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency (KDCA).
The country has reported a total of 473,034 COVID-19 cases, including 3,852 deaths.
It is worth mentioning that, the new Omicron version, which was discovered initially in South Africa, has heightened global anxieties because it is thought to be more deadly than the delta variant.
The World Health Organization (WHO) designated it as a ‘variant of concern’ on Friday.
