South Korea announced yesterday its provision of additional humanitarian aid worth $8 million to civilians affected by the conflict in Gaza.

The spokesperson for South Korea's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Lim Soo-seok, stated in a press conference, "The government will provide $8 million to assist civilians affected by the Israeli-Palestinian conflict," as reported by the local agency "Yonhap."

The Foreign Ministry spokesperson elaborated that the government would discuss the details of the humanitarian aid with relevant international organizations.

In October 2023, South Korea provided $2 million in humanitarian aid to Gaza's residents following the outbreak of the conflict in the sector on October 7 of the same year, according to the agency.

Humanitarian conditions continue to deteriorate, with international and non-governmental organizations calling for the expedited delivery of sufficient aid.

Gaza's population is suffering from shortages in essential services and basic necessities.
