South Korea has launched a new Electronic Arrival Card system, allowing foreign visitors to submit their entry information online before arrival.
The system, introduced by the Ministry of Justice, came into effect on Monday and aims to streamline immigration procedures.
According to Yonhap News Agency, international travelers can now complete and submit their arrival card online up to three days before landing in South Korea.
Previously, short-term visitors, including tourists, were required to fill out paper arrival cards manually at the airport.
The new system is expected to reduce processing time at immigration checkpoints and ease congestion at airports.
However, to ensure a smooth transition, the paper-based arrival card system will remain in use throughout the year before the full adoption of the electronic system.
