South Africa has filed a genocide case against Israel for its war against Hamas in Gaza.

South Africa accuses Israel of being “in violation of its obligations under the Genocide Convention” in its application and argues that “acts and omissions by Israel … are genocidal in character, as they are committed with the requisite specific intent … to destroy Palestinians in Gaza,” according to the ICJ.

It is worth mentioning that, the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) revealed that a staggering 40% of Gaza’s population is now teetering on the brink of famine, sending shockwaves through the already embattled region.

Regarding the ongoing genocidal campaign launched by Israeli Occupation Forces on defenseless Palestinian people, Thomas White, the director of UNRWA affairs in Gaza, grimly said: “Every day is a struggle for survival, finding food and finding water.”

White noted that more than 1.9 million people, constituting 85% of Gaza’s population, have been forced to evacuate following orders from Israeli Occupation Forces.
