On Sunday, Russia recorded 9709 Coronavirus (COVID-19) cases, upping the total infections to 281752, with more than half of cases and deaths in Moscow, according to the state’s Ministry of Health.

The ministry added that the death toll also rose to 2631 after 94  people died in the last 24 hours.

Russia has been in partial lockdown since the end of March to curb the spread of COVID-19.

People in Moscow can leave home to visit the nearest food shop or chemist, walk their dog or throw out rubbish but need special passes for other activities.

It is worth mentioning that, the World Health Organization (WHO) declared coronavirus a global pandemic as the new virus has rapidly spread from Asia to the Middle East, Europe, and the United States.
