The Secretary of Russian Security Council, Sergei Shoigu, arrived in Egypt for a working visit leading a high-level government delegation.
The Russian delegation included representatives from the Ministries of Internal Affairs, Foreign Affairs, Justice, and Industry and Trade, in addition to representatives of the Federal Service for Military-Technical Cooperation, Rosoboronexport, Rosatom, Roscosmos, and other bodies.
Upon his arrival at Cairo International Airport, Shoigu was received by Dr. Faiza Aboul Naga, Adviser to the President of Egypt for National Security, and Georgy Borisenko, Russia's Ambassador to Egypt.
The talks will cover a "wide range of bilateral cooperation issues of mutual interest," as well as an "exchange of views on current regional and international issues."
Furthermore, the discussions will focus on enhancing Russian strategic projects in the trade, economic, and energy fields, as well as in the domain of food security, according to the statement.
