Kirill Dmitriev, Special Envoy of the Russian President for Investment and Economic Cooperation with Foreign States and CEO of the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF), expressed his expectation that British Prime Minister Keir Starmer will soon resign, following the departure of his Chief of Staff, Morgan McSweeney, amid a scandal linked to the Epstein files.
Writing on his X (formerly Twitter) account, as reported by the Russian news agency TASS, Dmitriev stated: "They are quickly jumping from Starmer's ship, and soon Keir Starmer himself—the most unpopular Prime Minister in history and a warmonger—will follow."
Earlier, McSweeney announced his resignation amid a scandal surrounding the appointment of Peter Mandelson as Ambassador to the United States. Mandelson reportedly maintained friendly ties with Jeffrey Epstein, the American billionaire convicted of child sex crimes.
According to British media reports, McSweeney played a pivotal role in Mandelson’s appointment.
