The head of Russia's Foreign Intelligence Service, Sergei Naryshkin, revealed on Monday that Washington did not notify Moscow in advance of the strikes it carried out in Iran.
Naryshkin, in media statements, commented on whether the CIA and the United States had warned Russia of such strikes before they were launched. "It simply did not happen," he said, according to the Russian news agency TASS.
Naryshkin declined to comment on whether the Russian Foreign Intelligence Service was aware of US preparations for the strikes, saying, "I will not comment on that."
Earlier today, Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that Russian President Vladimir Putin and US President Donald Trump had repeatedly discussed the conflict between Israel and Iran in their recent talks, but that the US president had not informed his Russian counterpart of his intention to attack Iran.
