Russia wins 5-0 against Saudi Arabia

MOSCOW, JUNE 14 ( SEE) Russia won a 5-0 victory over Saudi Arabia on Thursday in the opening match of the 21st edition of the World Cup in Russia.

Yury Ghezinsky scored the first goal for the Russian team  with a great header after 12 minutes, and Denise Cherychev scored the second in the minute 43' after he managed to dodge more than one player in the defense of the Saudi team and succeeded in pushing it strongly against Abdullah Maayouf. Artem Dzyoba scored the third goal also from A header in minute  71', Denis Cherychev scored Russia's fourth goal and the second for him with a superb shot in the minute 91'. Aleksandr Golovin finished the fifth in the minute  94' with a powerful free-kick, ending with a 5-0 win over Saudi Arabia.

With this result, Russia will win their first three points in the World Cup and become top the first group, and the Saudi team will remain without any points, waiting for the second confrontation in the group between the teams of Egypt and Uruguay tomorrow.

Russia will play in the second round with Egypt on Tuesday, while Saudi Arabia will face Uruguay on Wednesday.
