Russia and Ukraine have agreed to extend the validity of the agreement that allows Ukraine to export millions of tons of grain across the Black Sea, despite the continuing conflict with Russia.
It was announced that the agreement would be extended for two months, one day before its expiration date after it was discussed between the United Nations and Turkey.
There were fears that Russia would withdraw from the agreement.
The agreement was announced in July last year, amid fears of a global food shortage due to the war in Ukraine.
The agreement has been renewed several times since July last year, despite Russian criticism of Western sanctions on its agricultural sector.
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said on Wednesday: "With the efforts made by our country, the support of our Russian friends, and the contribution of our Ukrainian friends, the decision was made to extend the Black Sea Agreement on Grains for an additional two months."
