Russia's Ministry of Defense said that the reports about the transfer of terrorist organizations' militants from the Middle East to the conflict zone in Nagorno-Karabakh are particularly disturbing.

The Russian Defense Ministry said in a statement on Tuesday: "The Russian Defense Ministry is particularly concerned about the information received regarding the transfer of fighters from terrorist organizations from the Middle East to the conflict zone in Nagorno Karabakh,"

"The Russian Defense Minister, Army General Sergey Shoygu, has talked to the Turkish Defense Minister, Hulusi Akar about our concerns." The statement added.

In an interview with Sputnik, earlier this month, the Syrian President, Bashar Al Assad, confirmed that Turkey had transferred Syrian fighters to the Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict zone, backing his speech by the fact that Turkey had previously transferred Syrian and other nationality-mercenaries to fight in Libya.

On September 27, armed clashes erupted on the line of contact between Azerbaijani and Armenian forces in the Nagorno-Karabakh region, in the most dangerous escalation between the two parties in more than 20 years, amid mutual accusations of starting fighting and using foreign militants.

Despite the agreement on a truce on October 10, it has been fragile since its implementation, as the two sides exchange accusations of flagrant violations of the truce and carrying out attacks against civilians.
