Russia Says Ukraine Joining EU Means Its End

On Saturday, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Grushko expressed Moscow's conviction that Ukraine joining the EU would lead to the dissolution of this bloc.

"If the European Union really annexes this country where Nazi formations and Nazi ideology contradictory to European values prevail, this will mean the end of the EU," Grushko told reporters, according to RT.

He stressed that "Europe's role in international trade is declining, and that the centers of economic and political influence are shifting to the east."

Grushko also explained that "if the EU does not care about Russia as an economic partner, then Moscow will act rationally, based on the new reality."
