Russia has rejected U.S. threats to carry out military strikes against Iran, warning that such rhetoric risks further escalating tensions in the Middle East.
Russia’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Vassily Nebenzia, said Moscow firmly opposes any threats of using force against Iran, stressing that such actions violate international law and undermine regional stability.
Nebenzia accused external powers of exploiting internal developments in Iran to advance their own political agendas, arguing that interference in the country’s internal affairs would only deepen instability rather than contribute to resolving crises.
The Russian envoy emphasized the need to respect Iran’s sovereignty and called for diplomatic approaches to address disputes, warning that military pressure could have serious consequences for regional and international security.
His remarks come amid heightened tensions between Washington and Tehran, as international actors closely monitor developments and their potential impact on the broader Middle East.
