Russia's Ministry of Internal Affairs has listed the former Ukrainian Minister of Information Policy, Yuriy Stets, on its wanted list, accusing him of conducting what it calls counter-terrorism operations against peaceful civilians in Donbas and participating in leading the operation in the region.

According to the Russian news agency TASS, on Monday, Stets is wanted under provisions of Russian criminal law, without specifying the specific charges.

It's worth noting that in April last year, a Russian investigative committee accused the former Ukrainian minister of leading the so-called counter-terrorism operation in Donbas.

The committee stated that as a result of the operation, 582 people were killed or injured, including 16 children, and more than 237 civilian infrastructure facilities were destroyed or damaged in Luhansk and Donetsk.

Stets served as the Minister of Information Policy in Ukraine from December 2, 2014, until August 29, 2019.
