Russia Provides Egypt with 4 Mln Tons of Wheat during 2nd Half of this Year

The Russian Grain Union announced that it will provide Egypt with 4 million tons of wheat during the second half of the agricultural year, which will last until August 2023.

In a statement distributed by the Russian embassy in Cairo today, Wednesday, the union stated that Russia maintained its role in the period from July to December 2022 as a major supplier of wheat to Egypt, as it exported 5.9 million tons of grain.

It added that about 191.5 thousand tons of Russian grain were shipped to Egypt during the period from January 1 to January 8, compared to 103 tons in January 2021, which confirms the interest in strengthening bilateral cooperation in this field. 

It also pointed out that Egypt ranks second in the List of Russian wheat importers.
