The Central Committee of the World Youth Festival in Russia has praised Egypt's support for the festival, which is set to be held in Sirius from February 29, 2024, to March 7, 2024.

In a statement, the committee hailed the Egyptian Ministry of Youth and Sports and praised it for its significant role in preparing the festival.

As a show of support, the Minister of Youth and Sports, Dr. Ashraf Sobhi, met with members of the Egyptian Preparatory Committee at the committee's headquarters in the Maadi area.

During the meeting, Dr. Sobhi highlighted the Egyptian government's commitment to empowering youth, encouraging their participation in important international events, and strengthening international relations.

He also emphasized the ministry's eagerness to develop youth exchange programs with all countries, deepen youth relations, strengthen Egyptian youth diplomacy with sister countries, exchange cultures between Egyptian youth and their counterparts from various countries, and transfer the Egyptian experience in training and empowerment.

In turn, Marat Gatin, Head of Russian Cultural Centers in Egypt, expressed his gratitude to the Ministry of Youth and Sports for its support of the World Youth Festival in Russia.

The meeting was attended by Ahmed Barani, Chairman of the Egyptian Committee; Dr. Abdullah Al-Batash, Assistant Minister of Youth and Sports and Rapporteur of the Committee; Sherif Gad, President of the Egyptian Association of Graduates of Russian and Soviet Universities (EAGRSU).

The festival provides an opportunity for Egyptian youth to interact with the youth of the world, exchange ideas and experiences, and enhance global understanding at the youth level.

It also seeks to strengthen cooperation in the fields of youth and sports with all countries, in accordance with political leadership directives.

The event will feature the participation of 20,000 young people from 180 countries, including 1,000 children aged 14 to 17. Youths aged 18 to 35 will have the opportunity to be selected through competitive tests after registering on the festival website.
