Russia Praises Egypt's Achievements in Tourism Field

Egypt’s Minister of Tourism and Antiquities Khaled El-Anany, met with the head of the Russian Federal Tourism Agency Zarina Doguzova, on the sidelines of the 114th session of the Executive Council of the World Tourism Organization in Madrid.

In a statement released by the Russian embassy in Cairo, it said: their meeting focused on boosting their joint tourism corporation as well as developing a tourism strategy aimed at enhancing tourist opportunities in Egypt.

"Both high-ranking officials discussed the possibility of making joint tourism programs between the two countries that would contribute to pushing more tourist traffic to Egypt from the Russian market, and working to boost the number of tourist trips between the two countries," the statement added.

"We are keen to enhance cooperation with Egypt," Rogozov said.

Also in this regard, Rogozov shed light on the strategic partnership between Egypt and Russia in the field of tourism, adding there were many expectations of greater traffic from Russia.

She praised the depth of relations between Egypt and Russia and the latest achievements and activities undertaken by Egypt especially in the field of tourism

On the other hand, El-Anany highlighted the recent tourism events in Egypt, such as the parade that transported mummies from the Cairo Museum to the National Museum of Egyptian Civilisation and the reopening of the Great Avenue of the Sphinxes in Luxor.

He also assured that 2022 would be a special year for Egypt.
