Russia participated in the International Forum "EduGate Summer Tour " (EDUCATE) on Higher Education, which has been taking place in Egypt.
The event is held by the Ministry of Higher Education in partnership with Arabian and international institutions for scientific research and education.
EDUCATE fair is a massive international higher education fair and forum in MENA, gathering governmental and private universities, colleges, training institutions, and scholarship/grant providers under one roof.
Larisa Efremova, the Russian university’s vice president for international activities, said: "We are confident that this event will help to further identify opportunities to enhance relations and cooperation between the two nations."
"The Russian university is keen on boosting educational exchanges and increasing Egyptian students in Russia. Thanks to the climate of understanding and cooperation in relations between the two nations, considerable progress has been made in enrolling Egyptian students to study in Russian universities," Efremova explained.
"Currently, more than 16 thousand Egyptians are studying in Russian universities, '' she added.
"The Russian university supports student scholarships to Russian universities and we have helped outstanding Egyptians, enhance their skills, and learn about Russia," she said.
On his part, the President of the Egyptian Association of the Arab Union of Graduates of Russian and Soviet universities, Sherif Gad, said: "Well, obviously Russian universities are keen on forming a relationship with Arabian and Egyptian universities."
In a statement, Sherif Gad said: “We will also sign a cooperation protocol to enhance the global competitiveness of Egypt’s education system and boost ties and cooperation between our institution and the Russian universities.”
"The Arab Forum for Graduates of Russian and Soviet universities, which took place in Cairo in 2019, has made significant achievements in its efforts to maintain the relationship between the Egyptian and Russian universities," he added.
