Russia and Malaysia are finalizing an intergovernmental agreement to introduce a reciprocal visa-free entry regime for up to 30 days, according to Radik Vakhitov, a representative from the Russian Foreign Ministry, at the KazanForum.

The agreement aims to abolish visa requirements for citizens of both countries, facilitating easier travel for business, tourism, and cultural exchanges.

This initiative is expected to significantly enhance bilateral relations and economic cooperation.

Vakhitov highlighted the ongoing efforts to finalize the draft agreement, with plans for expert consultations in both online and in-person formats.

This development comes amid broader Russian efforts to ease travel restrictions with other nations, including Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Oman, and Kuwait.

The International Economic Forum "Russia - Islamic World: KazanForum," held from May 14-19, serves as the backdrop for these significant diplomatic advancements.
