Russia's Foreign Ministry has announced sanctions against several British politicians, journalists, and experts, citing their anti-Russian activities as the reason for this action.
The ministry's statement highlighted that these sanctions are a direct response to what it describes as hostile actions by the British government.
It further elaborated that those targeted include British politicians responsible for crafting and implementing London’s anti-Russia policies, journalists accused of spreading falsehoods and Russophobia, and experts who allegedly cover significant social and political events in Russia negatively and inaccurately.
The Russian ministry emphasized that efforts by certain British individuals to tarnish Russia's reputation and isolate it on the international stage will be firmly countered by Moscow.
In March 2023, Russia had already announced sanctions against 23 British nationals from the armed forces, judiciary, and prison system, adding them to its special sanctions list.
