Russia's Federal Security Service (FSB) said on Monday it has foiled a planned militant attack in Moscow and killed the man suspected of plotting it, according to Russian news agencies.
The FSB added that the suspect was planning to carry out an attack on a crowded public place in the Russian capital, Moscow.
"He had opened fired at law enforcement officers when they tried to arrest him on the outskirts of Moscow and been shot dead," the FSB continued.
