The Russian Foreign Ministry announced today, Sunday, that the statements about the involvement of Russian diplomats suspected of working as Russian military intelligence officers, in the munitions depot blast in 2014, are baseless.

"The Czech authorities have taken an unprecedented decision to expel 18 employees of the Russian embassy, under baseless excuses about the involvement of Russian diplomats suspected of working as Russian military intelligence officers, in the munitions depot blast in 2014," the Russian Foreign Ministry statement said.

It added: “ the accusations were absurd as Prague had previously blamed the blast on the depot owners, and Moscow would hit back hard.”

Russia expressed its strong protest against the decision taken by the Czech Republic towards the Russian diplomats, and declared that "the expulsion of Russian diplomats from the Czech Republic is a continuation of a series of anti-Russian measures , It’s hard not to see the American trace (here)."
