Russia is exploring the possibility of constructing a nuclear power station on the moon in partnership with China, as stated by Yuri Borisov, the head of the Russian space agency "Roscosmos" on Tuesday. During an event with young people, Borisov mentioned, "Today, we are seriously studying the project of launching and constructing a power station on the lunar surface, sometime between 2033 and 2035, together with our Chinese colleagues."

Borisov elaborated that the construction of the station would not be manual but would be carried out by machines, noting that the technical solutions for this process already exist and are currently in use.

The Roscosmos chief emphasized that Moscow is not seeking to deploy nuclear weapons in space. He affirmed that Russia has always been against this and will continue to adhere to this stance.
