Russian Presidential Spokesman, Dmitry Peskov, announced that Russian President Vladimir Putin does not intend to impose martial law across the country or parts of it against the background of the military operation in Ukraine, according to Russia Today.

In response to a question about the possibility of imposing martial law, a spokesman for the Russian presidency said: "No, this matter is not among the plans on the table," explaining that the situation inside Russia is stable.

The Russian presidential spokesman explained that the negotiations between Moscow and Kiev aimed at stopping hostilities between the two sides are continuing slowly without making any significant progress, and without mediation by other countries, as he responded to a question about whether mediators are needed in the negotiations between Moscow and Kiev: "the negotiating process began without mediators, and is proceeding slowly and ineffectively without mediators."
